Shy Productions

About Us

SHY Productions Ltd is a United Kingdom-based film production company that develops, produces, and markets feature films for international audiences, built on a simple but rare fusion: British craft and Nepalese soul.

For over five years, we've worked to bridge two cinematic traditions that rarely share a frame: the structure and rigor of British filmmaking, and the untold stories, folklore, and landscapes of Nepal, a country whose cinematic voice has barely reached the world stage. SHY Productions exists in the space between them, unearthing stories that neither tradition could tell alone.

Our slate moves across genre and geography without losing its center: historical drama, Himalayan mystery, speculative sci-fi, different worlds, same instinct: build the world first, then find the characters who refuse to leave it. Every project is grounded in a specific place and a specific truth before a single character is written, because we believe the most universal stories are the most particular ones.

We're interested in cinema that immerses an audience in it; emotionally direct, visually distinct, and built to travel far beyond the country it was born in.

Our Commitment

We develop original feature films spanning drama, mystery, historical epic, and sci-fi; produce projects that bridge British and Nepalese talent, crews, and audiences; market and distribute work to international markets and festivals; and champion Nepalese stories, locations, and voices on the global stage.

Filming in Nepal

Nepal offers some of the most spectacular filming locations in the world, from the Himalayas to UNESCO World Heritage sites. SHY Productions provides full production support on the ground, including line production, permits, logistics, casting, crew, and equipment coordination. We welcome international co-productions.
